| "Per Jury" is truly an awesome movie!!! Shot on Sony F900 HDCAM CineAlta that brings exceptional quality to the screen. Synopsis: Thirteen randomly selected misfits confined in a room for the student jury. The camera is misfit number thirteen and its continuous recording is an integral part to the story. Antonio Fargas (the original gangsta "Huggy Bear" of "Starsky Hutch" 70's cult show and recently seen in "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" UK reality TV show) plays Dr. Smith, an infamous chemistry professor who catches Rodney, a student football star, drinking in school with a girl. Rodney is charged, but the girl is not. If Rodney doesn't play, then they lose the most important game in school history. Students are called to jury duty to decide on Rodney's fate and with that on the fate of the game. Everybody is MAD. Edmund, a gangsta wanna be, always tries to "talk black," has a bet on the game and manipulates the jury for a not guilty verdict. But Jennifer, insecure new student, is afraid to vote either way without hearing more facts creates an impasse. Her insecurity proves to be her strength; she confronts Dr. Smith and reveals a bigger issue than Rodney's drinking. Antonio Fargas and most talented cast from University of Houston School of Theater deliver a breathtaking performance. "Per Jury" culminates in the most unexpected revelations that linger with you for a very long time. |
